EGGSTRAVAGANZA
One egg, one shot, and gravity showing no mercy. Eggstravaganza challenges you to design a contraption tough enough to protect a raw egg from a serious fall, testing your grip on structural design, material choice, and impact physics. It's engineering with real stakes and a mess waiting to happen if your build fails.
Team event open to college and university students, with teams of 1 to 4 members; cross-college participation is allowed.
Two rounds, both held offline at IIT Kharagpur; further instructions for round 2 will be shared on time.
Design constraints: at least ~50% of the egg must remain visible, parachutes (if used) can't exceed 10 inches in diameter, and the contraption must fit within a 15-inch cubic box.
Propulsion, kits, electronic components, and taping the egg to the contraption are all strictly not allowed; eggs will be provided at the venue only.
Contraptions must have a robust build with a secure anchor point for the release hook.
